Those are nice bikes! I've got an old Cannondale CAAD5 and love riding it.
I'd make sure that both bikes are properly insured because you'd be pig-sick if some scrote made off with them! (I had my bike stolen as a teenager 40-odd years ago and I can still remember the horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach when I saw that it was gone, but at least I was able to claim on my parents' insurance.)
Well done on that first ride, by the way.
