First Maintenance/Clean

Hi there, I am very new to the bike scene. I have had my Giant Defy 3 Road Bike for about a month now and I am away to give it it's first clean tonight. I was hoping for some advice please from anyone??

My shopping list is:-

Muc-off, De-greaser, Finish Line wet, bucket, brushes etc.

Anything else?

Also any advice on take off the chain?

I have looked on various websites who all give different advice.

Any input much appreciated!!!

Car shampoo and a sponge - that's all you need.

Old rag to wipe down oily bits.

I tend not to take the chain off these days and living in a second floor flat I use baby wipes to clean the components.
