It's taken a while for me to get there but at last I've done it. I headed out from Goodwood over Duncton right to Bignor and came up against my first 16% hill, a lady getting into her car said to me, 'you're brave' at that stage I hadn't turned the bend into it but had to stay on my bike and ride it as she was driving up the hill, the next big one (for me anyway) was Houghton hill, I then headed down towards Yapton and beyond. When I got back to the house I had done 40m and felt fine, so a quick pee and out for an add on of 10 for the 50. I'm pleased with that even though it took 4h 6m @ an average of just over 12 mph. I had a couple of breaks for coffee and the said cake, well actually a fruit scone. Happy days.

I was quite surprised when I felt fine afterward, so you will probably be fine.

Probably.

Congrats, It's a good feeling isn't it. I did my first last Oct and have since managed a couple of others. Mine was a little quicker, but it was a pretty flat course. I'm now looking to do my first 100.
Again well done and look to the next one it will be easier.

Well done. You'll feel the benefit of that when you do your next ride.

It gets easier as time goes on.

It's a great feeling coming back from a nice long ride, it gives you a certain buzz.

What do you plan on doing next? Will it be 50 again or will you come back down before another attempt?
