So I have always loved my Boardman MX Sport Hybrid, even looked at people flying by on skinny road bikes thinking pppfftt I don't need on of those.
Weeeell.... my father decided that he is going to relive his cycling glory days through me, long story short he went and bought me a Carrera Zelos Road Bike on the premise that "your never going to get it at that price again" £159 from Halfords he's kind of right damn good price.
Anyway just back from my very first Road Bike Ride Ever (even as a kid I always had a flat bar type bike.) I have to say I think I am a road bike convert, it weighs nothing compared to my Boardman, handles very well and once I got used to the weird gears, rides so smoothly I felt I could ride on forever Even feels comfortable which I thought was not possible with my mangled spine. Only drawback clip pedals ewww.. bitch to get into on the move they have to go soon and be replaced with some decent shoes and clipless pedals.
Can't wait to get back out and see how far I can take my cycling, my beautiful Boardman has gotten me started well and lost me a stone in weight, will still use it often especially when I'm just exploring the local cycleways etc, but I think I have a new love, might even join a cycling club when I get somewhere near fit
I here by apologise to all of those road bike types in south shields I may have thought evil thoughts about when being passed.
