First crash!

Well, that didn't take too long!

I've only been riding for just over a week, having clocked up 35 miles over 5 rides.

I was about 9 miles into a 15 miler, when I had to stop at a round about. I got going again, and was pumping to accellerate, when my chain snapped, and threw me over the handlebars.

My right knee took most of the impact, and my Garmin 305 went flying.

I also picked up an ouchy on my elbow.

Luckily I was only a mile or so from home, so hobbled back.

I guess I'll be chain shopping, returning my sisters bike to her, and getting me something shiny and new, now that I've got my first booboo out the way.

My first off (earlier in the year) resulted in a broken collar bone and 3 months off the bike. Glad you fared a little better

I think my excess would make an insurance claim pointless. I've contacted Garmin to see if they can offer me e refurb for cheap, and I'll look out for a replacement on eBay. Failing that, I'll treat myself to an upgrade - probably a 410

If you're going to fall, over the handle bars is the stylish way to go!
Glad you're ok and ready to get back on your bike - allbeit a newer, shinier bike!
