Going for my first club ride tonight, riding with the easy group , 10-15 miles, nice gentle pace apparently,
The club by the way is the two mills ctc, meeting at hadlow road station in willaston at 7.10pm if any people n Wirral are interested. Food wise would you suggest a pasta based tea at around 5 o'clock ? Just to keep me going and then my 750 ml bottle with a zero tab in it.

Thanks all, hope I enjoy it.

Tony.

If you are going out with the ctc you'll need nothing special foodwise you may want to put something like a banana or flapjack in your back pocket and plain water (add diluted juice if you don't like the taste) will do too.

I wouldn't worry about nutrition prior to a gentle ride of this distance. Just go about your normal eating routine and enjoy the experience (of the ride). A filled Water bottle and a little snack, as mentioned is a good idea. Infact, I would probably eat very light, just before the ride and have a late supper

Toeknee if its anything like my CTC group the only problem I had "keeping up wise" was with the eating at all the food stops.

In terms of food I wouldn't worry too much I went out first thing on saturday morning for an hour fasted (except for a few sips of water).

I would take a little snack as its better to have one than not but for a ride of that distance you shouldn't really need anything other than a bit of water.

Good luck and enjoy it.

I'd go with the above people, maybe a quick snack before the ride and take something with you and then just have a late dinner.

Shame to hear you didn't get out. Joinin my Cycling Club only a few weeks ago was the best thing I did to get me motivated to do more and get out on the bike more often.

Knowing I'd be doing a 25-30 mile ride meant I had to get out in the week to keep up the pace for the weekend as I hate getting on the bike fresh after a week of not riding. Hope you manage to get down there and enjoy it!
