Well, I finally managed to pluck up the courage and do my first ever Century ride today. I have done a 99.2 mile ride before but that was over a whole day and involved several long stops so I've not counted it.
A reasonable route that took us around Kent in the lovely weather (yeah right - it rained constantly from 07:00hrs - 13:00hrs
) Our average speed ended as 17.2mph - not too shabby considering we had 4 punctures to deal with + waiting for a couple of the slower members of our group at the tops of the hills.
Definitely be up for doing a few more centurys next year
