First Build, silly Question

Hi guys
As mentioned before, I am doing a charity bike ride from Warwickshire to Paris then running the Paris marathon. I have decided to build my own bike so I can understand how it all goes together for future reference. I used to build bikes when young but that was BMX's etc, and I am OK working on cars, so mechanically I am competent.

I have just purchased a Pro Carbon frameset, just want some help with one part that I am not completely sure with as there seems to be so many different types.
Do I just order any headset or an integrated, or do I need a "Steerer Fork Bung"

Its the only part I dont seem to be sure on so sorry for such a silly question!

As it is a carbon steerer, you need a compression bung, something like this http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fsa-compressor-1-18-top-cap-th883/ This will go with your chosen headset.

Has the head tube got an integrated headset already? Obtain a headset that fits the head tube of your frame/steerer tube. Steerer Fork Bung info:

So my Pro Carbon Frameset has carbon steerer so I would need something like this:

PX Pro Carbon uses a 45 degree integrated headset, but just to check go on their website and it will tell you.

I would get the integrated headset from PX - tell them it is for the Pro Carbon.

You need to make sure that the depth of the bearings is spot on as well as getting the correct OD (Outside Diameter) and ID (internal diameter) and angles of the bearing - PX should know these.

Now its thrown me, Planet X say no need for a carbon steerer bung etc just need the headset!

It is the same thing you are ordering from Chain reaction
You will need it to compress the stack

Unless there is already a bung in the steerer supplied you will need one - have a check.
