Completed my first ever 50 yesterday doing the Great Notts Cycle.
Conditions were OK though very windy until a I hit 35 miles then it chucked it down all the way home.
My story I am 45 and started road cycling in April after a couple of years doing short 10/15 miles on a mountain bike. Got a specialised secteur on the c2w scheme so thought I would give this road lark a crack.
Clocked 200 miles in training longest ride I did was 28 miles, due to time I went for shorter 15/20 mile rides but pushed quite hard.
I was a bit nervous if I had done enough but managed it in 3 hours 48, the wind and rain sapped me towards the end with nobody about to really help me along.
I am fine today, no aches or pains and ready for another ride soon.
