Did my first 150 mile ride today. Wanted to see if I could do it, and really enjoyed it.

The routing was from East Manchester, over Winter Hill, down into Preston, then up the A6 all the way to Milnthorpe. Bit of a loop around the coast to Arnside and back onto the A6 for the return of the outbound.

Cracking day for it!!!

Bravo! Done a few of that distance and more, my next target is 200...a mere 105 today.

have to admire that!
Ditto, especially in a beginners thread, much more used to seeing "did my first 20 miles today". Not knocking you at all because to do that sort of distance at this time of year when most of us are throttling back, and to do it mostly on A roads I find quite staggering, but it might just make beginners [and you can't be one] feel a tad inadequate .

A Minging Manc...
Hats off to you Markymark! Perfect day for it indeed. I have been outside most of the day doing work involved with my house extension and spent most of the time wishing I was out on my bike as it was such a pleasant day (much better than the rotten rainy muck we have had recently).

200 miles next time eh?

EDIT: East Manchester, covers a multitude of sins!

Well done!

Shame you didn't hang on a day and do the Eureka Audax tomorrow, officially 210km (120-odd mile) but the official route is actually 133 mile (even on the official gpx), plus the ride to and from the start point in Cheadle would have probably got you your 150 (or you could have took a de-tour to clock 150) but you could have enjoyed others company

I will clock about 150 mile if I don't get lost, or give up, or die of boredom doing the audax!

200 miles sounds like a plan for next summer lol.

Not that far from you actually, just over in Audenshaw.

Well done MM. I think that the furthest I have ever ridden on a November ride was about 135 miles and that felt like hard work.

210 km is actually 130.5 miles and 133 miles is 214 km.
