Hi
Bit chuffed today because first ton under the belt. Bit tricky on the Isle of Wight to stretch to 100!

Managed it in 6 hrs 20 so happy with that given that the island is rather lumpy and it was a solo ride.

Roll on the next one.

impressive! I am doing a round trip of 110miles tomorrow, fairly flat (Winchester to Warminster and back) and I will be very happy if I hit the the first 100 miles in 6h20. I am expecting (and expected!) to be back by 1pm for lunch, so it is 7hrs and a 6am start!

Nice going Wight; excuse by ignorance but how big is the Isle of Whight, would that take you twice round the island ?

23 miles long by 11 wide and diamond shaped. All the way round is about 75 miles. Cross crossed north south to make up the difference. Despite rumours it is quite hilly.

100 miles on the IoW?... that takes some work in making sure you loop, otherwise I imagine it would be easy to hit about 60 and turn in!
I was born and bred on the island and miss the rides there. I make sure I ride the Randonnee every year, but have promised to jump on the ferry and see the old routes again.

Massive well done on the century.

Cheers all.
I am doing the randonee next week.
It isn't how big the hills are here but how many short sharp ones there are. All day I think the longest flat bit was a mile at most.
Still, now have thighs to kill for!
