I knew a Rep who used hotels a lot obviously and when he arrived he checked the fire escape routes to make sure he knew where they were and that they were clear. In one hotel the signs all led to his room. He appeared to have been allocated a room which was the official fire escape route.

Joking aside, even though all roads lead to Assembly Point "A" in the car park, it could be clearer. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night with the fire alarm sounding, with the power off and like the majority of people not even looked at the fire evacuation plan. You would hope that the emergency lighting and statutory signing would lead you to safety.
