Finding Stratches and Chips!!!

why is it that everytime i clean my bike i find more and more chips and scratches!!!???

its so frustrating! my once perfectly shiny new bike is now looking tired and battered!!!

well............only if you look closely!!!

You'll just have to pedal faster so people can't get a closer look, so it's helping you train - you should be thankful. :biggrin:

Of course riding faster will probably mean more chips from the gravel on the roads, thus meaning you'll have to go even faster... it's a vicious cycle (pun intended)!! :smile:

Just like washing the car - if you clean it often you know every mark and can tell when new ones arrive. If you didn't look after it so well you wouldn't notice but I prefer a clean bike and car. Guess actually it's like the housework too - marks on walls/carpets etc.

Mine never get cleaned ... well, perhaps once a year. They're like my guitars, they're just tools to do a job and it shows in how they look.

There's a big difference between the honourable scars and wear from hard use and the results of abuse and neglect. Keep the frame wax polished and rust won't be a problem.
