definitely gets easier - even with asthma and a bad leg (both me).
once the warmer weather comes, the sun comes out, you will feel a lot better and before you know it, you will be wondering why you posted this!
A turbo
Most of my riding is only 10 miles each way, on club runs i tend to fail towards the end as i do not get enough time at my lactate threshold so some turbo training with constant resistance would sort me out or kancker me ;0
As they said, keep practising, and it gets easier. I discovered an interesting side-effect of lots of practice last weekend. It was a 4-day long weekend, and for some reason, I just couldn't motivate myself to ride anywhere, so I ended up having 4 days off the bike. When I rode to work after it, I noticed that (a) my legs felt really strong and (b) I had the slight burning sensation in the throat you get when it's not used to the heavier breathing. Funny that the legs felt better after the 4-day break than before it, but not the lungs, eh? I'm sure the sports physiology experts have a name for this .
Titanium prosthetics are light and strong and may come with built in cleats.
Otherwise you will probably have to make do with improving what you have by physical application.
Lungs can often be improved by careful physical application and expert guidance.
I hope you find methods to improve what you have.
