Lets hope it's not as bad as it sounds ! it may only need a bit of adjustment (say he with fingers crossed) Main thing is you are ok and able to tell the tale.

I suppose it could have been alot worse...just gutted as i set myself a challenge of doing 100 miles this week so was happy with near 30 on day one....now i'm flipping stuck there.

Bummer indeed. Main thing is you ain't broke.

It sounds like you have bent the rear hanger. It can either be replaced or bent back but by the sounds of it bending it back might snap it any way. A new hanger costs very little and a decent LBS will do the work and realign it for you. Shouldn't cost too much at all.

Wow, that's some mess. LBS time. Again though hopefully it's mostly the hanger.

If are handy with the bike you could always remove the chain and undo the derailleur - if you can get access. Still LBS will have the right tools for the job. Hanger alignment tool costs about £60+ so defo worth having it done instead of buying.

I also had my first fall at the weekend, so snap!! I was on a dual carriageway and wanted to stop, I unclipped one foot and then leant the other way to put the other foot down, which was obviously still clipped in! Luckily I fell onto the verge, but I did manage to shout I'm falling" to no one whilst I was going down!
