i was out in faversham, ashford neighbourhood Chris......found myself a tad underdressed. My helpful son also prepared my water bottle complete with ice cubes.....thoughtful!!!!

Last Friday was without a doubt the coldrest commute I have ever had. It was only about -1, but with windchill the weather forecast said it was -8.

By the time I got home at midnight I could barely feel my fingers. I was on wiggle first thing on Saturday upgrading the gloves...

The weather people say it's to be as cold tonight, but so far the wind is barely a whisper. I've brought a fourth layer to be on the safe side.;)

Great looking bike.

I only commute about 3 miles each way but have been wearing two pairs of socks cycling tights jeans on top thin cotton gloves inside waterproof winter cycling gloves .Best bit of winter kit for me is the free buff I got with a cycling mag a few months back.

Roll on Summer.

I was out in Faversham on Saturday, and cripes I was freezing. Was cycling from Sittingbourne to Canterbury, when I got there I was so cold I decided against cycling back and stayed in the pub.

I went for a spin in the countryside around Ashford a couple of weekends back and had left my water bottle in the shed from the day before. Was only when I was gasping for a drink after 20 mins or so that I realised the bottle contained a block of ice:blush:

p.s like the Allez speshy.

We went from Asford, out through to Bridge and back into Ashford via Wye - bloody cold throughout but getting started was the worst part - as we started to move off (still -5c) I could feel my face freeze up! I was actually glad of a few rises/hills just to get the blood circulating again

Thankfully my new jacket and overshoes proved to be wise investments - I just wish my new winter gloves would appear (get your ars3 into gear Wiggle!!).

Still, weather forecast for the rest of the week looks like it'll be getting a fair bit warmer ;) but also wetter

I can just about handle the cold but I hate being out in the wet!

You warm up on a longer commute , by the time i get to work i am sweating and normally maybe just my toes will be getting cold. Can be worse coming home even though it is warmer because i have to stand on a cold floor while putting my shoes on.
