Hi

I have introduced myself in the welcome thread and would like to ask a few questions as im new to road cycling,

I have a Forme Reflex on order and hope to pick it up next monday from lbs. Apart from the bike what are the essential bits of equipment i will be required to buy? im planning on doing 2 to 3 runs a week at or around the 25 mile mark to start with.

Any help is appreciated.

Paul

:hello: welcome. And nice bike . Well water cage and bottle, some good lights, small tool/puncture kit and spare tube, small pump, computer to track your miles and possibly a small frame bag to put it all in! Unless your going to use a small backpack?. Hope that helps. Carry spare batteries for the lights too.

Thanks and I think I already am before I've got the bike. Not sure the weather is going to be kind tho over the next few weeks.

Have you many opions on the bike I've bought, lbs guy highly recommended it at the price I paid 1050.

n = need +1 i.e. you should always have one more bike than you actually need (summer best bike + winter hack + ATB + commuter etc.0 so there's always "just one more" that you "need" to buy

The Rules said:
Rule #12 / The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.

While the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned.

For the longer rides, you may be interested in a pair of clipless pedals? Some swear by them, and they just don't work for others. Try 'em out, if you can.

Thanks, I'm tempted to try the clipless pedals. Used to be a runner so have a few Ron hills and other types, would they be suitable for cycling?

Yeah I imagine the Ron hills would be fine for starters but ideally you'd probably want something with a little padding. As for clipless I guess you've got to try it and see of it's for you. Personally I love it and wouldn't go back. I take it you just have regular flat pedals for your new bike.
