After many years' use my Blackburn frame pump has started to wheeze. Everything works except that it won't hold pressure. Almost certainly the O ring has worn beyond the point where silicon grease provides a seal.

My LBS will sell me a rebuild kit for £6. Yes, that contains an O ring, but it also has two more of them and a dozen other bits that I am never going to use, as well as loads of packaging. Can you get the O rings on their own anywhere?

try putting a thin layer of tape in the groove where the o ring goes - this will lift the o ring up enough to get a good seal again - costs virtually nothing

What size is it? Google 'Toolzone 80pc Rubber O Rings In Storage Box' and you'll get 80 assorted sizes for £1.99 from Amazon. Bet one of those will fit because odds on it is a standard part.

£3.95, according to Amazon http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B002NH8I7A Plus delivery.
I reckon the inside diameter of the barrel is almost exactly an inch, because the O ring housing is a touch over 7/8". That Toolozone box doesn't seem to have any quite big enough.

It's not the cost, I just don't like buying stuff I will throw away. But I would rather get a bucket of O rings that I might use than a Blackburn Kit that I'm fairly sure I won't.

Not that one but this one, link it has some 1 inch diameter and the 7/8th you're after. Take your point about having to buy so many when you only want one. What you really need is a little hardware shop and a bloke in a brown coat who will sell you just one for a couple of pence (that old 'd's money)
