One of the visually impaired athletes that was lined up to do the bike leg of the London Triathlon for Project VIper this year is in need of a new female pilot, for training and 10/25m TTs
Jan used to be a competitive XC mtb'er until a degenerative sight condition caused her some degree of difficulty when the course dipped in to the wooded sections (she would usually just miss the trees but those behind her following in her tyre tracks often weren't so lucky).
When she was forced to stop she went through a few years understandably down, but last year when we caught up with her she was thinking about getting back in to it all. TBH we just lent her a VIper tandem and watched her get on with it, since which she has absolutely monstered herself in training with a view ultimately to breaking in to the British Cycling squad.
Unfortunately however her usual guide has had to drop out, which leaves Jan unable to train outside and race once the season starts again.
