Iv had the felt for just over 2 months now so I have had time to reflect on the pro's and cons of this bike.
Purchased whilst it was on offer (down to £650) from Tredz.
First ride was a quick 8 mile loop around town and I instantly felt comfortable on it and it's 105 group set was sharp and precise. Although the frame geometry is built around endurance and comfort I can easily use it for short rides where I can put the power down.
I recently took it for a 4 day London to Paris trip and it performed exceptionally well..... In fact i wouldn't have wanted to ride anything else.
The stock felt tyres are ok and roll good enough, I shall probably keep them through the winter months before upgrading in the spring. I was advised to change the brake blocks straight away as they were apparently the only down fall on the bike, however they seem fine to me, although the bike has been lucky enough not to see any rain yet so I can give you my thoughts on the brakes later perhaps. The bike comes in at around the 9kg mark which is very good for an Aluminium machine ( carbon forks and seat post) and in good time I shall be making a wheel upgrade which will lighten the bike some more.
I instantly changed the saddle upon purchase as the stock one looked a little too spongy, which I'm sure wound have been fine for maybe 25-30 but by then I'm sure my sit bones will be telling me to make my way home.
Previous bike was a giant defy, a bike which gets great reviews all round so I was a bit nervous about switching to the Felt but I have definitely made the right decision.
Done over 600 miles on it now so I gave it a tune up last night and its all ready to go again now. I highly rate the Felt Z85
