I was flying along the A413 at 28-30 mph earlier.

Serious tailwind. I rode into the wind for about 12 miles then turned around and rode back.

Whoa!

I don't feel like a superman now. I've developed a pain in my lower back and I'm walking around like an old man.

I posted earlier in the 'your ride today' thread...140km. 65km in 2hr 15min followed by 75km in 3hr 45min. Bloody painful it was. But I am now getting the chance of finding out if the compression recovery tights work - so far they seem to be as I am not hobbling about.

Really? I didn't know if they were just a current fad. Let me know how the muscles feel tomorrow.

Will do. I have been having problems with really sore legs after rides, and had been thinking they were maybe a bit faddy as well, but decided to give them a go.

Well, that's amazing. No pain at all. Nothing.

I kept them on overnight, having enjoyed a pain free evening. When I finished the ride my thighs and buttocks were very sore and I had anticipated some degree of pain even if the tights worked, but did not feel any pain during the evening.

Even with this I had thought I would have some pain in the morning, at best a dullness that would remind me of the ride - but nothing at all. Legs feel the best they have ever done after a ride. In fact, I'm a bit annoyed that I had not made plans to go out early this morning as I could easily have fitted in a ride before everyone else woke up, but I had been expecting I would not be in much shape to do one. It was a tough ride yesterday as well, as I said 75km into a very strong headwind...

I am a convert to these, and they should help me get out more often as I'll not have to suffer sore legs for days after a long ride :becool:

I beat my 18mph maximum speed today (it's a suspension bike, not a racer, so cut me some slack lol I had no wind either), over 21 miles, almost 22 per hour. Down a short hill I got 25mph, but I don't count that as my maximum as it wasn't flat ground.
