Felt FC Frame

Hello.

This is my first post, fresh to this forum.

I just wanted some advice on a frame I purchased today. Its a Felt FC Frame, think its 2010. It has been used for a year by the previous owner.

I already have a Felt Z100 which I want to keep for commuting and light touring, its comfortable as its a Sportive set up. I was looking at Scott Speedster S20 2nd hand and then this frame popped and got it for £275. Down to my question then, before I shell out on wheels and groupset will this frame fit into what I intend to use it for as a more racing geometry set up for pacey 30-40 rides, maybe even allowing enough comfort for 50milers?

I think what my main concern is, is that I heard these frames in their days were issued to teams for racing and that it may be too harsh for the rides I want to use it for?

I'm think I may have got a good deal on the frame as its in really condition and very light.

I'm not sure how to add pictures of the frame so I have tried to attach the old ebay link.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Dave

As road race frames are designed for just that, road races, which can be anywhere between a 50km crit and a 260km road race, your 50 miles (80km) should be quite OK! You'll probably like the quick handling and sharper cornering too.

you say you have a 'sportive' bike already - but you want this new frame for pacey rides and 50-milers..? Sounds like exactly the same thing to me....

I see your point black'n'yellow. The sportive bike is a felt z100 so quite heavy and a poor groupset, so just fancied building a racy frame up and see how I like it. I'm thinking it will be a nice bike when built up.

Crit - Criterium, town centre race on a short circuit between 1-2km, in the UK generally about an hour. Can be up to 100km in other European countries, still on a smallish circuit, around 3-4km or less. Domestically, Tour Series is a good example of the elite end.
