No still happens. Generally it isn't shown on the highlights (unless a crash happens) and you need to be watching live to catch it - and even with watching live it is easy to miss because the cameras will be on a group up ahead or will be taking the opportunity to do some scenic shots.
Some people like watching the race just after the feed stations because the pace is generally a bit slower so you can make out individual riders easier, plus they throw their musettes after they take the food out that they want, causing quite a scramble from fans trying to get it!
Speaking of things you don't see much on the TV coverage, it was nice to see the Tour of California director include some shots of riders being shelled out the back and the autobus going up the last climb on stage 7.
Watching Contador and Schleck neutralise every move off the front becomes tiresome after a while....I want to see the real suffering further back down the mountain. Some sprinters might not like that if it means there is footage of them hanging onto cars
