Anyone used the Cycle Streets android all to plan and follow routes? How well does it work in practise?

Last time I tried it, it was hopelessly slow to load maps, but just tried it again and it seems much quicker, but haven't used it while out on a ride .

That would be down to your data connection signal strength,

For my route to work I don't think it is that accurate ... and it suggests crossing the A38 twice and cycling along a back street when there is a wide bus lane on that section of the A38. The time taken for the quiet route seems to be quite a bit longer than it takes me too - as I do use part of that route on occasions.

It is probably a good tool to use to look for suggestions but don't feel the need to follow it slavishly.

Just looking at an alternative journey that I make sometimes and it does take some very odd routes.

That was my impression, mapping data specific to cycle routes is patchy. It's an unfunded project and they're hoping for public corrections.

No it wouldn't.
I was at home connected to broadband via phone wi-fi connection.
