FD braze on or clamp

Is there an advantage in one above the other? The braze on is lighter but if you need an adapter (as I do) there is no weight advantage - so?

No sir the weight doesn't bother me at all but this is what is discussed elsewhere is why I mentioned it. Are there any noticeable differences in efficient or adjustment/set up is my concern.

I have a suspicion that with braze-on fitting on a regular shaped seat tube, you can get the wheel closer in than with a clamp-on.

Not sure what advantage that brings... shorter wheelbase so nimbler handling?
