RIP.

A well known street to many of us London cyclists - joins the extremely busy Cable Street cycle highway.

Can't be any distance at all from the fatality just a matter of days ago.

Evening standard has some pictures of the aftermath. It's was on corner of Chambers Street.

Road shoes, helmet: he was off for a days ride.

7am Saturday in London should be a safe place to ride. Glad the driver was arrested, it really has to be a serious mistake on quiet roads. I wonder if alcohol was involved. Or maybe he just didn't bother to scrape the ice off his windscreen. </shudder>

Still dark, we don't know both were going the same way, one or other could have swerved to miss a pothole or other obstruction.

Most likely is numpty driver didn't see cyclist, who may or may not have had lights, or been wearing conspicuous clothing.

A lot more questions than answers.

Cyclist was my brother, driver didn't see him even though he had all the gear on. Funeral on Monday at last RIP and stay safe all you cyclists out there, he was good and still died life ain't fair sometimes
