Fake inner tubes?

I bought a cheapie conti tube off ebay, when pumping it up with a hand pump the valve snapped clean off at the rim.

My other conti tube has a brass coloured valve, this had a silver coloured one.

Could this be a counterfeit or just faulty?

Fake. As are a lot of things off ebay. Best thing is not to use ebay as a convenience shop but for what it was originally meant for which is buying low-order, one-off, second hand goods off private individuals.

FWIW, my Conti race 28s (bought in a proper shop, not fakes) have silver valves in both LV and SV variants.

Me too. Just bought three from Halfords and all the PV valves on mine where silver. No problems with them.

I really think some of them are 'Factory seconds'.

wiggle do 5 vittoria lv tubes for £17. good tubes and a bargain too.
