Bottom bracket on my Synapse was sounding unhealthy so LBS took a look and said the bearings had failed. That's twice in under 300 miles.
All covered by warranty but its not really the point. My other rough and ready bikes have never had this issue.

Id want to see the damage for myself.
Otherwise "bearings had failed" means what - how had they failed.

Hmm, is it BB30 or Hollowtech.

Doesn't matter which, but I would hazard a guess that the bearing mounting surfaces aren't exactly 'faced' properly.

BB30 was the culprit. The actual bearings that failed are the grey covered type and they are replacing them with the black covered type. Apparently the grey's are an earlier batch that have caused some problems
