Recently purchased a bike of fleebay and not to sure of its age.
Serial number on rear drop out is Z8V12723

Any pointers to get a bit of history would be good as its been re-painted in the past.

Is there any way of determining this from the photographs as there are no decals on the frame?

If you scroll down a bit the is a photo of the head badge - the front of the lugs looks similar to your one (mine is also a 1958, but the "loop" on the lug is cut away - just a stylish whim? or different model?) we will have to compare notes.

Well its home and so far so good. The only immediate issue is the right hand gear mount braise on gear mount is missing . I've found replacement ones on fleabay but wondered if anyone has put a replacement one on a frame or is there an alternative way of securing a gear lever other than a clamp on type?

Only way i know is for a framebuilder to add them , but i suppose anybody could do it just depends how tidy you wanted it to look

I lost one from my Raleigh Equipe, I just took the other one off and used a 'band on' type of lever mount. (cheaper)
