I've been offered a second hand one for a good price.

My only concern is with the integrated battery pack: how many years life can be expected from one before they start failing?

Are they replaceable?

Plenty.

Even the dodgiest rechargeables should last at least 300 cycles and, given they last around 15 hours between charges in use (they are so bright, I mostly have them on low), that would give at least 4,500 hours of light. I've had mine over 2 years and there's no noticeable drop in battery life.

The batteries can be replaced by USE, although there would be a cost.

go for it. I had an exposure race and they are brilliant. since upgraded to maxx D, which is lush. Batteries can be replaced but as has been said its not something you'lll be doing v often.
