I bought a Flash/Flare set (with rechargeable batteries) a while back.

The front light works a treat but I can't seem to get the rear light to work correctly

I really struggle to get it out of the very short pulse mode (like a standby flash) and into on/pulsing. When I do eventually get it switched so it will give a decent light I often find after a ride that it has either reverted to the blink or gone completley off (changing batteries seems to make no difference) - any ideas please???

Can't advise on the problem itself but my experience of dealing with Exposure is, they are first class on warranty issues.
Have a look on their website for info about service, warranty and conditions etc.

Return it. Some have issues with the finish flaking on the threads which stuffs the connections. On the other hand, how charged is the battery?

I had similar problems with my two flare lights. I had mine quite a while before the problems developed and went though all the issues of what was causing the problems. I then had that eureka moment.

In the led head unit there is a small silver soldered area that comes into contact with the top of the battery. I noticed this had become a little flattened at its point. This must mean that the led unit and battery are not always connecting properly.
So the solution was to put a bit of extra solder onto the silver part of the led head unit.

Now works a treat no problems. I think the action of turning the light on and off all the time wears the solder down and then causes issues.

Hope that helps

The lights are relatively new (bought around August time) and the batteries are always fully charged - I have two sets that I rotate after each ride.

I have found that dropping the unit onto it's base seems to sort theproblem - not sure if it's a permanent or long-lasting solution yet though. I'll hopefully get out again Sunday and find out
