Is there any exercises I could do at home that will improve my cycling? The only gym I like is about 35 miles away which is what kinda got me back into cycling.

:welcome: I wouldn't say so, short of bolting a bike to a 'Turbo trainer' (xx(), really the best way to get cycling fit is by doing more of it IMO :bicycle:

Proper stretching to keep all your muscles in balance, legs (calves, hamstrings, quads, glutes), hips, shoulders, neck, arms.

Some core type work will help on the bike in terms of comfort. Plank etc, get a Swiss ball for sit ups and what not

Swimming and walking, good for overall fitness

Otherwise, just ride your bike

Don't forget the rest of you - not just your cycling muscles. I spent the weekend lifting and cleaning flagstones and laying a new path. On Monday morning, the only bits of me that were not in agony were my quads and calves. I can only conclude that the rest of me is, basically, made of jelly!

Solid advice from vickster.

Here is the sequence and priorities. Ride as much as you can or want. When you can ride no more and still have time and energy left, do the off bike stuff.

The real progress is made on the bike. The other stuff is just to recover from or set up a good bike ride.

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
From your other thread you are going on tour soon.

Learn some stretches so you don't sieze up after a long day in the saddle. You could learn 4 or 5 yoga stretches for your back and a few pilates moves to strengthen your core which in turn will help your back.
