It started snowing last night, which surprised me as we weren't supposed to be getting it until this afternoon. And what's more the previous lot hadn't all melted. Now it's been snowing all morning and every twig on every tree branch has got about a 1.5 inch covering and it's 2 -3 inches deep on the ground. It could be interesting when the the snow which was actually forecast gets here and I've got a feeling that it might go on for a couple of days.

Still, it does look very pretty.

I'll see if I can borrow a digital camera. I'm afraid I'm still on film (I've even got one of those cameras where you chuck a blanket over your head.)

It's still snowing BTW. Very picturesque. I bet the castle in the town will look nice when I get home.

It should be a good weekend to hop on a cheap flight to Munich and take the train south to Füssen where there are a couple of spectacular castles and the Alps just rise up out of the plain.

Was up on Holiday to Skye at the weekend and very snowy it was too! This was taken at the Old Man of Storr on the north of the island and the very pointy rock in the centre is rather aptly called 'The Needle'. The ice was so thick you could walk across the ponds and I saw some lochs frozen up too....brrrr!
