Any CCers doing this? I did it last year on my Dawes Galaxy and felt a bit out of place with handlebar bag, mudguards etc. But I did manage to cycle up all the hills! I really enjoyed the ride, great scenery and organisation.

This year I will be on my lighter bike and will try not to carry so much stuff. I still intend to start as near 6am as I can though.

Thinking about it, just need to sort logistics to get there. Looks a great ride.

A tough ride today. Pouring with rain from 6-7am, but fortunately soon stopped. The wind was horrible; I never could work out what direction it was coming from, apart from it appearing to be in my face all day. There seemed to be a load of problems with the P***ture fairy, I had one which cost me 10-15 minutes.
115 miles and over 10,000 feet of climb. I finished in 9.05 with an average of 12.7mph. Moving average was 14.1mph.

This is a really well organised and run event. I think it is great value for money, with loads of food, gels, drink available as well as some free breakfast and a hot snack at the end. I can thoroughly recommend this ride, particularly if you like hills.

Really well done!

I did 57 miles in the same area yesterday, including Leith Hill, Box Hill and Ranmore Common, no way would I be up to double that distance. The Downs are beautiful and I love riding there, so definitely next year this event is on my list.

I am going to do a shorter 60 mile Sportive with Evans in the Downs on the 3rd of July. Part of my build up
