My parents bought me as a b'day present a 1 day bike maintenance course at Edinburgh Bike Coop. It was an excellent course and I can thoroughly recommend going on a 1 day course. Indeed, I was amazed at just how much I learnt. I was able to subsequently build a bike from the frame to a working bike (real satisfaction). I know you are down sar'f, but there must be similar training opportunities in England. Or even better, take a weekend break in Edinburgh - you will love it.

Which evans?
Generally they will just clean it and re-align some stuff. then jobs a good un.
A good clean will do wonders for your bike.

Evans do a maintaince class. give your local shop a ring to find out when.

I'm boked into one on Thursday. Cost is £10, refundable if you don't think it was any good.

You also get a goodie bag, worth £20 after completion.
