I did this year's event - and enjoyed it. The course has some fairly long climbs - but nothing too severe. The wind was a problem, particularly on the coast road when I found myself between groups. There's some great scenery and the road surfaces are mostly good - but beware the first steep downhill where there are some tricky surfaces on some of the corners. Organisation was good and Ennis is an interesting little town. The best feature of the event for me was the enthusiasm of the spectators. On all the the small back roads, almost every family was out at the gate cheering us on, with many offering drinks or fruit.
There's some good feedback on the event's website and an article in the December Cycling plus which is just out. You'll not regret entering.
