Thought i'd get in early with this

For those that pre-registered you are able to sign up for next years event which is on May 13th. If you didnt pre-register then it will be Monday, seems to sell out faster every year so if you are thinking of doing it i wouldnt hang about too long.

Accomodation in the area is already pretty much fully booked!

I pre registered but I don't think I'll do it My aim this winter is to learn to swim and if that works I'll try a few Tri's which will be cheaper £61 is steep - I think I can make my money go further

I have signed up for this for the third time but I have to say that price wise, it's starting to get a wee bit steep for me. I suppose thats what supply and demand does for you!

Yeah it is pretty expensive, particularly compared to some of the big continental sportives. Although in comparision to most other sportives in the UK it seems a bit more reasonable when you factor in the closed roads and mavic support.

btw have you seen the entry price of triathlons? Couple of my friends were trying to persuade me to do the Arran one (at least before it was cancelled) and entry was something like £125...tri is one of the few sports that makes cycling look cheap!

IMO it's worth the price for the closed roads experience alone - I'd rather do one Etape than 3 non-closed roads events.

Am signed up!

We rode most of the route a week before the last one (on th day of the royal wedding this spring). I think we saw around 8 cars moving max.

I thought about applying but £61, no thanks,

It's a fine route and the experience of closed roads with a shed load of other folk should be unique, especially in such a scenic area. Also, the Marie Curie charity is a worthwhile cause to support.

Just booked. Well worth the money, did it a couple of years ago and it was great. If your thinking of booking, be quick!
