Essex Countryside 60 - 24th June

No idea but from being down in Essex for a while there's a good chance IMO it'll be pretty flat unless it goes through Maldon or Stock; there's steep inclines there but nothing prolonged enough to call a hill ;-)
 
By looking at the route map it looks bizzarely like the 25 mile route goes up the only major hill (North Hill between Little Baddow and Danbury - 1.1 miles long). Apart from that it's flattish / rolling roads. Might get over there myself for that one.

Why pay?
It's on the public roads. Just follow the others.

Rather be part of an "event". Bit like saying if you cant get a place on the London Marathon, why not just run the course after they all finish. Plus it adds some realisation to others that you are actually a cyclist, and some confirmation to yourself I would think. We are not all battle hardened cyclist on here dont forget.

well - I did it - and found it harder than the Norwich 100 - due to very strong wind and a heavy rain down pour - i stopped at every refresh point ( which happend to be a pub ) - i havent got a clue how long it took me - i think there were 5 refresh points - which means i had 5 pint of Guinness - when i got back to the hotel (The County in Chelmford ) i went on the whisky and ftyimumblag numplutscy after i thing a fwe mreo dinksr and meting wthi a ewf fo teh custeroms i gvae adenrishion of leny dene --- i woke up the following morning - went down to breakfast - and received an applause - i will do it again next year -- to find out what its like - cheers LEIGH
