About 15 or 16 years ago my dads Peugeot bike was stolen while he was at work, and a friend of his gave him this bike, but it just sat at the back of our garage ever since. I dug it out recently and gave it a clean and polish. My dad said it originally had yellow mudguards but that they crumbled apart. Its also missing some decals. After cleaning it up I have identified all the parts as follows:
Elswick Lincoln Imp 1958 #21998 'X'- MADE IN BARTON ON HUMBER, ENGLAND
Reynolds 531 plain gauge tubing
Seat tube 56.5cm x 28.6mm
Top tube 55.5cm
Down tube 60cm
Head tube 11.8cm
Chain stays 44cm
Seat stays 54cm
Dropouts - Cyclo benelux
Lycett Swallow saddle (equivalent Brooks B15) 26.2mm x 20cm post - MADE IN ENGLAND
Steel Stem 22.2mm
GB Alloy Handlebars 23.8mm - BRITISH MADE
Black/Yellow bar tape with chromoplastic end caps - MADE IN CHINA
GB Arret alloy brake levers - BRITISH MADE
GB Sport mk2 alloy brakes (with Lincoln Imp nuts) - BRITISH MADE
Fibrax #269 brake pads - MADE IN UK
Resilion front hub - MADE IN ENGLAND
Resilion rear flip/flop hub 114mm - MADE IN ENGLAND
Cyclo 4 speed freewheel - MADE IN ENGLAND
Cyclo benelux mk7 rear derailleur 3-4 speed - MADE IN ENGLAND
Cyclo benelux downtube shifter - MADE IN ENGLAND
SEDIS 'P' chain - MADE IN FRANCE
Bayliss Wiley bottom bracket 68mm 24tpi - MADE IN ENGLAND
Nicklin 49t chain ring 3/32" - MADE IN ENGLAND
Nicklin cottered cranks 170mm - MADE IN ENGLAND
Pedals - MADE IN ENGLAND
27 x 1 1/4" Dunlop Special Lightweight rims - MADE IN ENGLAND
32c x 630 Tai Yung tyres - MADE IN TAIWAN
Total weight = 12.72kg or 28lbs
How much do you think its worth? Everything is original except the bar tape and probably the tyres. I replaced the original Fibrax 269 brake pads with new ones (they still make them). The rear derailleur only shifts into the middle 2 sprockets, but I gave it a 15 minute test ride manually lifting the chain to the biggest sprocket (20 teeth) and it rode nicely.
