I have always ridden push bike.now for work (9km) i need to buy electric cycle. any suggestions on
reliable brands
good batteries which allow many recharges
distance that can be travelled on single charge
mistakes to avoid

they are very heavy and limited in speed, i would get a light bike or scooter/motorbike.

Don't believe people whose limited experience leads them to say electric bikes are very heavy, there are some very good ones on the market nowadays and the technology is developing and improving every year. I had a (Giant) Lafree for a bit, it was very excellent. Especially after I over-rode the limiter.
