Electric bikes

Hi I'm looking for 2 adult e bikes. Ideally not looking to spend over £500 per bike (is that realistic?)

Any advice on where to look for these? I've tried Facebook market place already

Gumtree? EBay?
I’d be very wary that a) they aren’t stolen and b) they’ve not been tampered with and thus a potentially deadly fire risk c) it’s an outright scam

Maybe look at entry models at decathlon and Halfords and go outdoors but can’t imagine you’ll get for £500, more like double that. Maybe decathlon pre owned?
Can you explore cycle2work for savings?

Battery condition would be my concern with a used ebike.

A neighbour is trying to sell their expensive ebike after using it three times since buying it in 2020. I'd think that would be a big gamble.

Just don't use in the rain apparently!
Halfords do have e-bikes for £500 but max range of 20 miles so ok for going to the shops perhaps

My wife has one of these. Bought as COVID hit.
Treats it abominably. Now 4 years old, does 40 miles on a charge.
Faster than my all singing e bike.

LBS can deal with the mechanicals.

She loves it, uses it a lot. We've just done over 500 km last few weeks.
