Hi Guys.

I am trying to edit a few existing routes that have been sent to me from the Donald Hirsh London 2 Paris route http://www.donaldhirsch.com/gpx.html
http://www.donaldhirsch.com/dieppeparis.html

I need to adjust the start and finish points of the routes each day, to suit the destinations of the hotels that we are using

I cant seem to upload the route to Garmin connect to edit as there seems to be no way to upload to Garmin unless you are uploading an activity with date stamps, Ditto for Strava.

Bike Hike allows me to download and drag edit the route but wont allow me to shift the start and end points.

Anyone know of an app or mapping site that allows me to totally edit an existing GPX file.

All suggestions gratefully received.

J

PS I have thought of creating new sections of the routes that I want (in bike hike or such) and the attempting to splice the resulting GPX data into the original GPX file via notepad, but this has proven useless as I don't speak GPX and cant read each turn accuratley)

Why don't you just make short gpx files from your hotel to wear you want to join the route. When that route ends, start using Donald's route from there? I assume garmin will intelligently pick up a route from where you are and not send you back to the start?

If you want explanations on editing them, I'll do it when I'm near my laptop as I can't open files and see format on my phone

Basecamp. Do a Get Info on the route and you can chop as much as you like off either end, then insert your own waypoints and recalculate the route.

Unfortunately the Hotels are not close to the main route, in some places they are in the opposite direction, As I am writing routes for a group ride I can just see that going pear shaped too easily with riders heading off on the wrong bits of multiple routes..
