Shouldn't be.

2 Capitals is Dunfermline (an ancient capital) to Edinburgh

Edin - St A's is quite a bit longer - and the cakes at Freuchie are THE BEST  and very reasonably priced

They shouldn't clash, otherwise the crossing of the FRB could turn into Stirling Bridge

I don't think it is posted anywhere yet. The event is a charity ride for LEPRA, as you probably know and they are a smallish outfit who don't always post their plans as early as we impatient cyclists would like ;) !

There was a good thread (and ride) last year but there isn't anything available yet on the LEPRA site.

Patience ..... but that doesn't help the planning !

It's a good ride, adequately challenging and transport is available from St A's back to Embra (at a cost) - as is the train from Leuchers station (if you pre-book your bike )

HTH - and that we'll see you on some of our Informal CC Ecosse rides/RVs before then ;)

Saturday 19th June : Edinburgh to St Andrews (Lepra) Ride
The annual charity run to St Andrews, now in its 30th year. This is a challenging 68-mile ride over the Fife hills, but one that many hundreds of ordinary cyclists manage to complete each year, raising tens of thousands of pounds for leprosy relief. For the 2010 ride, the date is now firm, but no other details have yet been announced. Further information will appear here as soon as it becomes avaiable.

I have been thinking about putting my name down for this as well! might even get to cycle past my folks house in Dalgety bay! will get them to line streets to hand out water for us lol

Yeah, go for it ! ....

.... but it's unlikely you'll go past Dalgety Bay

The 2007 route is here.

Last year we started from Inverleith Park, not the city centre, which made it a bit shorter .

It's a good ride, with Cleish Hill not too bad but a cheeky little ascent shortly after Freuchie - one to train over  The cakes at the Freuchie stop are NOT to be missed  !

LOL i have been to fruchie a few times before and im very much looking forward to that part of it, yeh i think i will go for it, it looks like a long route but it misses out the hills of Burntisland etc on the coastal path! im sure there will be more challenging paths though.

Why do all the best rides have to be based on the east coast

... because it's got the best places to ride of course  (not that I am biased). Or maybe we need some west coasters to set up rides at their end of the country ?

My end of the country is a drink fuelled war torn barren landscape, and that's the posh bits
Looks like you answered your own question extremely eloquently (and accurately)
