Edge problem with courses.

I got the Edge 810 a couple of weeks ago to replace the Sigma Targa that I lost in the snow and it was pants any way.
I have been using it every day and am just starting to get to grips with it.
I really love it, but today I tried to ride a course that I created and it was the first time that I have used the navigation feature.
The ride was messed up as the unit kept giving me wrong directions telling me to turn round etc.
It was fine when I knew where I was, but I ended up going way off course.
It reminded me of the time I tried to use my phone as a satnav just using 3g kept it even lost the course 100 metres from the finish?
I got home and checked the course to see if there were any mistakes but the course was fine.

Turn off auto re-route.

Seems to be the same issue all Edges have had. My 705 I turn it off. Works fine with it switched off, I think there isn't enough algorithms in there for real re-routing.
