I would like to import a course created on Bike Hike but I get a message saying that the garmin Communicator isn't installed properly. I have reinstalled this but still get the same error. Can somebody please help, baby steps preferred?

TIA

Hi Lavoisier,

Has it worked ok previously, what op system is on your pc, is it using a USB dongle?

I had issues with win7 and wouldn't work for my Garmin forerunner 405 but worked fine wit my wife's xt310
No issues in xp though !?!

You can download it as a gpx file (I know Bike route toaster gives you this option), then manually transfer this into your "new files" folder in the Garmin unit as you would drag and drop any other file. This can then be accessed in your courses file on the unit. Hope that helps...

I am using a new laptop with win7 premium on it. It's the first time I've tried to download a course and the garmin is connected througha USB lead. I'd heard it could be done manually which I tried earlier by dropping it into the Garmin\Courses folder which didn't work. I shall try it inoto the 'New Files' folder.
How do I go about activating the course on the 800 tomorrow?
Sorry for all the questions but it's all new to me.

Doesn't work when .tcx dropped into 'new files' folder. Also showing up as two removeable drives E and F with E being titled Edge 800 and F numbered.

Sorted. Thanks

Excellent, how did you get it done in the end?

I had to update the firmware in the unit, then the course appeared and it was done. Still uncertain as how to use it and what is recorded but I guess I'll figure it out.
