Hi

Had my Edge for a couple of weeks or so and apart from having to wait a few mins for the Satellites to Acquire before setting off, I'm happy with it.

Used it for a course Today (for the first time). Over the 40 miles it froze on me about 6 times and needed to be re-booted and powered back on. Pretty annoying and I was wondering if this is a common issue? I know that when I was on Garmin Connect, it showed a message asking if I wanted to Download the latest firmware. I haven't done it you, so do you suppose it is something that can be cured by upgrading to the latest version of FW?

Cheers,
SD

Yep Update and it will be much better. Only ever had the 705 lock once since I have had it on latest firmware after the first ride when it stopped a number of times.

This may come in handy for you too.

On another note what saddle are you using? I am having trouble with mine and could do with a change before the 4th. The Fizik Arione was nice and comfy but induced Numb Knob Syndrome  So have changed to a very expensive Koobi PRS Alpha. No more numb knob but it is a pain in the arse after about 40 miles.

Cheers Steve & JBA

The course link for the DD will come in handy! I have connected my Edge to the netbook and am about to download the latest firmware. Hopefully this will fix the freezing problems.

On the topic of saddles; I am using a Charge Spoon saddle that's okay and have recently fitted a Brooks B17 on my hybrid. I intend to go on a 50+ miler next weekend and will make a decision afterwards if the Charge saddle will be used on the trip to Dunwich or if I'll swap the seatposts and do it on the Brooks! The Brooks is feeling pretty comfy now and almost broken in, after about 120 miles or so

Check for Firmware updates and latest versions every fortnight. More frequent if you have a glitch.

That's a good tip for any Garmin GPS. Am off to see if there's an update for firmware on my Legend HCx. Was being a bit odd last night re picking up satellites correctly.
