Cannot get my 530 edge to connect to my heart rate monitor, as you can see from the pics, it finds it, but the swirly thing in the top corner just continues to swirl, if I try to do anything it just comes up with the final message ... exit without saving. I've left it for 20 mins but still nothing, any ideas please 🙏

Had to go up to select the hr monitor, hence getting the tick

Put a new battery in the hr monitor so unfortunately not that

Rebooted device but to no avail

As a tech numpty, how do I check to see if its connected by Bluetooth or ant+ ?

somewhere in settings or details menu if you click that device, I think....

or it might be in overall settings of the garmin head unit on how it connects to devices.....

It's bad user interface design. You need to select the monitor, get the tick, THEN go up and select Add Sensor. If you just go back thinking you've added it, it will think you want to exit without saving as displayed in your pic.
