I noticed that Chris Froome and the others are cycling bikes with eccentric chainwheels. Are these back in vogue now? I used to have a Biospace chainwheel on my road bike, but I found it disconcerting.
Back in vogue? They seem to be in vogue at Sky. But despite Brailsford's propensity for science, is there any evidence of greater bio-mechanical efficiency? Or are elliptical chain rings more a matter of rider comfort? I can remember asking my LBS in 1984...
