These are off the bike that you salvaged from the river aren't they? What are your plans for the frame & forks (not that I can afford them)?

I'm riding them but I'm going to Ebay the poor old Harry Hall next week as there's simply no comparison!

I've been good all my life and never won the lottery so was well overdue for some good karma!

why are the pictures showing a 105 wheel ?
I get confused with all these model numbers. I thought WH-R500 was Tiagra and WH-R560 was 105 ?
my RS-10 wheels were £80.00 from Ribble last year but the hubs look different from yours?

Er... don't know! I can't find any identification on the wheels apart from that code you see on the hubs. I read on some reviews that the bike comes with RS-10 wheels so that's what I assumed they were.

Maybe the simple explanation is that "the manufacturer reserves the right to amend specifications etc etc".

Better put a note on that ad.

Just unpacked (Grrrrr!) the wheels to check the ID. The only description I can find is WH-R560, which is given on some web sites as a 105 wheel. How this differs from RS-10, I don't know but I have amended the ad anyway. The weights are 780gms front and 1040gms rear, they are shown on the web as costing £80 front and £90 rear.

I reckon that someone might be able to straighten out that bent rear rim. It isn't cracked at all is it? Have any of the spokes pulled through?

I've seen a couple of wheels that bad brought back into use. There's usually a very slight kink left which you can feel through the brake, but not bad enough to have to scrap the wheel.

If it was a traditional wheel with lots of spokes I would agree; I have had some success in rescuing dinged MTB rims in the past. Straightening the braking surface wouldn't be difficult but since the adjacent spoke is loose the rim needs pushing outwards at that point and when the wheel has only 20 spokes you've less chance of pulling the damaged section out into line in my opinion. I would certainly be worth trying before condemning the rim anyway.

I don't think I'd want to decend at 35mph on it

Have you looked at a compact frame for the gf? you can get the saddle lower and the top tube shorter. Maybe some 650mm TT wheels ?
