Is the QR sitting correctly in both sides of the drop outs?

It could be as simple as that

If you put the wheel in the wrong way round, does the wheel steel drift off to the same fork leg, could be a fork problem or does it drift of to the other side in which case it's more wheel related

Can you borrow a wheel off someone else to try

Not the most intellectual response and there will be people drop by with far more tetchy knowledge that can advise

Before you do anything get it looked at to be sure

There was some sort of an adapter on the caliper so it could b screwed to the side of the old fork but on the new fork they screw into the back. Iv taken the adapter off and now the disc hits the back of the caliper b4 it screws in

You need a F PM/PM 180 adapter. The Northwest Shop should sort you out, but they're cheap enough .

If they don't let me know. I've got some machined spacers and extended bolts that will do the job.

^^^^ what he said - the adpater moves the calliper away from the wheel by 20 mm ... and as you have said, you will need longer bolts;

...... but not necessarily as some design of this type of adapter have the adapter bolt to the fork and have another two holes for bolting on the calliper, in whcih case you would need 2 more bolts.

(bolts will be M6 )

Generally speaking the bolts come with the adapter but it pays to check.
[pedant mode on] the adapter moves the caliper 10mm further out as the rotor's measurement is diameter, not radius^_^ [/pedant mode off]
